About Katahdin Amateur Radio Society

In September 2024 we started this club to carry on a movement that started in Alaska. That movement is simple: “…do amateur radio right”. While no one is perfect, we strive to do this based on solid principles that include honesty, integrity, selfless service and the commitment to preserve a hobby that still has meaning today. The Katahdin Amateur Radio Society will apply the mindset of local service to anyone in northern Maine. Bridging the gap of providing numerous means to administer an examination will provide countless opportunities to be of service in the amateur radio community. It is our highest honor to serve in this capacity.

Our Mission Statement

“To serve the amateur radio community throughout northern Maine and beyond with honesty, integrity, sound leadership, compassion and respect in the act of selfless service to anyone, regardless of physical location.”
